MY WEDDING DAY
1961
December was the month we chose and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately my mother and family could not come, but Ray's father, from Israel, and his sister Pam, living In Malta at the time were able to make it. My best friend was my bridesmaid and Ray's was his groom. The unusual thing about the wedding was that my father in law gave me away before he had even got me!!! The missionary ladies from Nicosia made the cake and a major's wife graciously gave us her beautiful home for the reception. We wanted our wedding to be an occasion for us to witness to everyone how much we loved each other and the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what happened and it remains a very precious memory. In spite of some of our family not making it, we had friends that we loved and 'brothers in Christ' share this special day with us. Our belated honeymoon was spent in Kyrenia, a most glorious spot. Previous to that, we had got engaged there, at Queen Berengaria's castle. (for those who do now know this queen, she was the wife of Richard the Lionheart)
