EDWARD 6th
Least known of all the Tudors, and because of his young age when he died, he just seems to be a hiccup in between Henry and Mary.

| His mother, Jane Seymour, lingered for 12 days after his birth, and then died of puerperal fever. She was laid in state for 3 weeks and then was buried with pomp and glory in St. George's Chapel, Windsor. This was Henry's only wife to have this privilege. It was said that her name was on Henry's lips when he was dying, and that she was the only wife he truly loved. His will directed that he should be buried along side the woman who gave him his son.The King sent this note to Francois 1 "Divine Providence hath mingled my joy with the bitterness of the death of her who brought me this happiness". |
