Biography

Greetings!
I would like to welcome you to the website! I'm very excited about this project.
I am a teacher for the Puyallup School District. For the past two years I have been teaching Special Education and Title One reading and math at Wildwood Elementary. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education at Pacific Lutheran University. I am currently working on a Master's Degree for Experienced Teachers at Antioch University in Seattle, Washington. Thanks are due to Antioch University for allowing me to be creative in receiving my graduate level credits, and to the Puyallup School District for their strong show of support for this project.
I am most thankful to my family, who believed in the educational power of travel. They introduced me to areas all over the United States, Europe, and Scandinavia. They have been supportive of me in my own traveling ventures study abroad in Vienna and wild road trips to the mid-west. They claim that I have been "bitten by the travel bug." If this is the case, then they are responsible for the infection. It is my wonderful with them that have given me the confidence and desire to make this trip possible.
I began planning this trip in January, 1997. My traveling companion, Mark Carrato, was home for a visit from Japan where he has been a teacher of English for two years. It was his original vision to travel the world for a year, and I thank him for allowing me to hook up for the months that I am able. The journey from January to August has been a challenging one. I have been vaccinated, I have packed and repacked, and I have sweated time lines. Now all the planning is becoming reality, and I cannot tell you how pleased I am to be able to share my experiences with you.
I invite you to explore the website and learn about my experiences in these places. As you explore, please keep in mind that the accounts of the events are only my experience as an individual in these places and do not necessarily represent what others may experience. I hope that you find the information interesting and useful in your life in some way.
Sincerely,
Kirstin Lindeman
