Charles Thompson was born 1760 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, and died 04 March 1837 in Dickson County, Tennessee.  He married Mary Hodges 23 December 1786 in Northampton County, North Carolina, daughter of Thomas Hodges.  She was born 1769 in Northampton County, North Carolina, and died Bet. 1847 - 1848 in Tennessee.

1. Mary Thompson, born Abt. 1788 in Northampton County, North Carolina; died Bet. 1830 - 1840
    in Humphries County, Tennessee.

4. James H. Thompson, born 1794 in Northampton County, North Carolina; died 28 January 1868.
    He married (1) Rebecca ? .  He married (2) Malinda Hendrix.
5. William Thompson, born 02 April 1797 in Northampton County, North Carolina; died 06
    November 1842 in Benton County, Tennessee.
6. Amos Thompson, born 15 April 1799 in Northampton County, North Carolina; died 21 August
    1854 in Texas.  He married Leodora Scott.
7. Sally Thompson, born Bet. 1800 - 1810 in Anson County, North Carolina; died Bef. 1849.
8. Jeremiah Thompson, born 07 December 1801 in Anson County, North Carolina; died 02 March
    1864.  He married Angeline Tomlinson.
9. John Thompson, born Abt. 1805; died Bet. 1848 - 1849.
10. Nancy Thompson, born Bet. 1805 - 1810; died Bet. 1834 - 1840.

William Thompsonwas born 02 April 1797 in Northampton County, North Carolina, and died 06 November 1842 in Benton County, Tennessee.  He married Penelope Holland 25 January 1816 in Dickson County, Tennessee, daughter of Benjamin Holland and Roda Kee.  She was born 10 January 1798 in Wake County, North Carolina, and died 1895 in Benton County, Tennessee.

1. Lemuel Hulet Thompson, born 18 March 1817 in Dickson County, Tennessee; died 02 March
    1866 in Ripley County, Missouri.
2. Willis Calvin Thompson, born 18 November 1818 in Dickson County, Tennessee; died 04
    December 1888.  He married (1) Rebecca Strickland 1837.  He married (2) Sarah A. Whitwell 07
    May 1871.
3. Charles Hodges Thompson, born 03 November 1819 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 16
    May 1879.  He married Catherine Swift 16 April 1846.
4. Dolly Thompson, born Abt. 1821 in Benton County, Tennessee; died Bef. 1888.  She married
    Thomas Higdon 14 March 1839.
5. Benjamin Thompson, born 19 August 1823 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 24 November
    1863 in Ripley County, Missouri.
6. William Thompson, Jr., born Abt. 1825 in Benton County, Tennessee; died Abt. 1888.  He
    married Sarah Williams 26 November 1843.
7. David Thompson, born 24 December 1827 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 19 March 1919.
    He married Saletha E. Yates 02 August 1849.
8. Roda Caroline Thompson, born May 1831 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 18 July 1915.
    She married Andrew B. Beasley 25 October 1855.
9. Mary Ann "Polly" Thompson, born February 1833 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 10
    February 1905.
10. Albert Franklin Thompson, born 1834 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 01 October 1872.
    He married (1) Amanda Jarrell 15 July 1854.  He married (2) Mary Smith 17 August 1869.
11. Eliza Louisa Thompson, born 1836 in Benton County, Tennessee; died Bef. 1888.  She married
    James J. Gossett 10 December 1858.
12. Jeremiah Thompson, born 02 April 1839 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 26 November
    1892.  He married (1) Emily J. Thompson 05 April 1859.  He married (2) Nancy F. Cowell 05
    June 1881.
 
 

Lemuel Hulet Thompson was born 18 March 1817 in Dickson County, Tennessee, and died 02 March 1866 in Ripley County, Missouri.  He married (1) Mary Ellis 03 September 1835 in Tennessee.  She was born 19 March 1815 in North Carolina, and died 20 February 1849 in Benton County, Tennessee.  He married (2) Angeline Wiseman 24 February 1850.  She was born 11 December 1824, and died 02 August 1895.

2. Edmond Frank Thompson, born 18 November 1838 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 12
    February 1897 in Ripley County, Missouri.  He married Sarah Elizabeth Payne 08 May 1859.
3. Penelope Elizabeth Thompson, born 16 December 1841 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 01
    February 1920 in Corning, Clay County, Arkansas.

4. Charles Senter Thompson, born 31 January 1851 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 23
    August 1856.
5. Mary Frances Thompson, born 28 January 1852 in Benton County, Tennessee; died 16
    September 1947.  She married Henry Hixon 05 January 1867.
6. James Moses Thompson, born 18 September 1855 in Benton County, Tennessee; died
    27 November 1939.  He married Martha Charity McKinney 11 March 1877.
7. Queen Victory Thompson, born 06 March 1859 in Ripley County, Missouri; died Bet. August
    1899 - 1900.  She married William Daniel "Dole" Payne 20 March 1876.
8. George Washington Thompson, born 02 January 1864 in Ripley County, Missouri; died 07 August
    1937.  He married Juda Emily Magee 01 March 1885.
 
 

Penelope Elizabeth Thompson was born 16 December 1841 in Benton County, Tennessee, and died 01 February 1920 in Corning, Clay County, Arkansas.  She married Joseph McDowell Bef. 1860, son of William McDowell and Jane Collins.  He was born Bet. 1840 - 1842 in Tennessee, and died Bef. 1874 in Missouri.

    born 16 December 1867 in Ripley County, Missouri; died 16 December 1931 in Mississippi
    County, Missouri.
3. George C. McDowell, born 1864 in Missouri; died 24 June 1880 in Ripley County, Missouri.
4. Jane McDowell, born 09 April 1868; died July 1935.  She married John Stafford Bef. 1889.
5. Mary L. A. McDowell, born 1871; died 1934.  She married (1) Newton McCann.  She married
    (2) William L. Smoot 29 May 1884 in Ripley County, Missouri.
6. James Ganam McDowell, born Abt. 1872 in Missouri; died 25 July 1900 in Missouri.  He
    married Sefronia Hixon 03 April 1898; born 30 November 1877 in Missouri; died Aft. 1906.
