First off, I REALLY want to thank our riders. In the many years we have produced races we have NEVER seen a facility left so clean. There was no trash anywhere. Riders picked up after themselves and that really makes my job easier. 4 hours of cleaning pens, tables, and dragging the field and we are set for the next racing weekend! Thank you-all for helping out and making it very easy for us! (remember, it is a hayfield, horse poop, shavings, hay, other organics, no need to pick up, the field drag breaks it up and it is good fertilizer)
Again, we had really great help, we ran the race fast because of the very visible threat of rain. Riders were ready to go and we got done quickly. THANKS!
As Mitzi and I evaluate our place in barrel racing, we are understanding that the PBHA races are our favorites to help produce. It is due to our rider’s willingness to help, the general great attitudes, and the camaraderie of our friends. The potlucks, visiting of camps, it is all good! (We have placed Brian on the top of the list for camp-hosts!)
The summer of ’07 will be remembered for…RAIN!
Of the 4 scheduled outdoor shows 3 have rained out. One show was moved to Yelm indoors (July 22), the other one was cancelled. PBHA is in no position to cancel another show. If our level of anticipated awards is to stay the same we MUST make up the August 19th show.
Many riders had entered and paid for August 19th. We are building a list of riders who are owed money. We will apply your credit to the next race. Riders wishing a refund instead, please contact us by August 30th.
Arenas are booked, other shows and commitments conflict, our options are very limited.
With much hair-pulling we bit the bullet and will have a rain-out make-up race at Elma on Sunday, October 7th. Since we will be indoors start time will be noon.
Elma is a great facility; we used to do a
NBHA WA-07 has a race the day prior, October 6th. Consider making a weekend of it and run both! Kathi Dahlstrom is the contact for NBHA.
With the one cancelled show it has been decided to reduce the number of qualifying PBHA races from 6 to 5.
PBHA September 8-9
Let’s hope SUN! It would be great to have one outdoor weekend this season! This is an outdoor race, our outdoor races start at 10am. Some mis-information has been posted on other web-sites. We are trying to have everything corrected.
PENS: We have 13 available, two 14’X14’, five 12’X14’, six 12X12. These are first come, first serve. Early-entries get first shot. Please consider early entering, it greatly helps the office avoid the backup like we had Saturday. If we have pens left we will offer them at the race.
PRACTICE NITES @ ROCHESTER, THURSDAYS AUGUST 30TH
& SEPTEMBER 6TH
We are booking two practice nights at
I will have the arena worked with timers set up. It MAY be a bit dry. It takes 5 hours to water and during the week I have no time.
