The weekend of insanity is behind us and we are looking forward to a break before the Next PBHA
We have a cheepbarrelrace scheduled for the last weekend in July
This should be a nice race,
The indoor races are behind us and we are gearing up for the outdoor races.
Warm up race—RNH Productions LLC will be putting on a warm up race Friday night at the Rock n horse arena 7pm start time with time onlys starting at 5pm.
$200 added $25 entry, open, Youth, Senior, Novice
Sign up when you get there we will take entries till the end of the class.
The 2014 survey results are in and posted!
Standing are also posted.
New Section added—Horses for sale—PBHA members only— If you have a horse for sale please send me a flyer and I will upload it up on the webpage. The flyer must be ready to go!

Welcome old and new members to our 2014 season. It is because of you that PBHA is the best association out there. I will get right to business. The awards banquet in Nov. ran longer than expected and many members left before we were able to hold our yearly rules meeting. We held a directors meeting in January to do association business for the upcoming season. 3 new directors were elected. Congratulations to Abby Rossow, Courtny Shelton and Haylie Wilson– Heid.
In addition our early entry system needed work. This is what we came up with: Enter online as usual. Unless other arrangements are made, if a rider is not checked in 1 hour prior to the open start time they will be drawn out. (You can comment on the entry if you will be arriving late) If the rider is drawn out they must late enter and pay the late fee at the race.
Online entries will be taken till 10PM the Thursday before the race. At 10PM the online entry will be taken offline. Our goal will be to have the draw posted by 10PM Friday before the race. Our intention is to do a draw for both days if applicable.
Riders are encouraged to draw out if they cannot make the race. Failure to draw out has an impact on the office and race efficiency.
If a rider fails to draw out 2 times in a season, they will be required to use the late entry process for the remainder of the season.
Draw outs are preferred by email by 6 pm the day prior to the race.
After that email or cell phone or text 360-789-4289.
Entries will be taken at the race until 1 hour after the scheduled start time.
Awards: Receiving yearly awards is the responsibility of the member. If they are unable to attend the awards banquet they must make arrangements to pick up their awards. PBHA will not ship awards. If awards are not picked up upon completion of the 1st PBHA weekend of the following year, these awards will be raffled off.

The New Year is about upon use. We are gearing up for another Great year and hope to see you there!
As we close out our year we say good –bye to one of our own. Tom Parks was the Best Announcer that PBHA has ever had. Tom was always conscious of his job and took it seriously. He made sure he knew how to pronounce each persons name before the race started and was always encouraging to the rider no matter how their run was.
We want to help out Tom’s family with the Toll that his 5 years of illness took on the family. We are doing a Fund raising Barrel race
December 22, 2013 at Rocky Top Arena. Time onlys start at 9AM with the race starting at Noon.
ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS RACE WILL GO TO THE FAMILY TO HELP WITH TOM’S MEDICAL AND BURIAL COSTS.

Awards Banquet November 23, 2013 at the Rochester Swede Hall 18543 Albany Street, Rochester, WA 98579 Starting time will be 3pm with dinner served in 2 sets 1st set 3-4pm and 2nd set 4-5pm awards starting at 5:30. Door prizes and Horsey Bingo!!!
Directors will need to be available for set up and we will need help for clean up, so please everyone plan on staying to help.
No cost to Members Non member $5 for Adults and $3 for Children under 12. There will be a silent auction and dinner. Italian Theme this year. I need to know how many in your party so please email or call me for that so we can figure how much food to prepare. Also Please bring an item for the silent auction.
FINAL STANDINGS are up and you have 1 week to look at them and make sure they are correct if not please email me ASAP!!!!
The catalog and emails will be going out starting at the end of the Week we have over 100 members that will be getting awards and the award tally will be posted once all the emails have gone out.
Please read the rules on ordering awards to insure that your awards get here in time for the banquet and you get what you want.

August 31, 2013 Saturday The Open will start at Noon to give George enough time to dry out the ground after our rain on Thursday. Time onlys will start at 10AM
Well we have 1 more weekend to go for the PBHA season and then the Finals Sept. 14, 15, 2013. We are working on Finals awards and will have some nice awards for the average winners.
Sorry it took so long to get the standing up but they are there. Also for this weekend (July 13,14) the pens are $10 a night and if you could please pick them up and leave the manure outside the pen . That would be great. We are trying not to raise the pen prices but we have to pay to have them cleaned and that is getting more expensive.
Also we will have parking attendants so if you come in on Friday please check with George or Bull so you will get parked in the right place.
Please we have to put a lot of trailers in the fields We want everyone to have enough space for an enjoyable weekend. Have fun Ride Hard and see you there!
2 weekends are behind us and the results are in for our last weekend in September. It will be a PBHA Finals weekend with $1000 added each day. We will have Buckles for Open and other winners will be able to order from the PBHA catalog. Non Members and those members that have not paid an awards fee will be able to pay an awards fee to be eligible for the Finals awards.
This race will be BRN4D co-sanctioned (those that want BRN4D points need to pay $2 additional per class)
Time only runs will be available before each day starting at 9AM
With open starting at 12 noon on Saturday and 11AM on Sunday
Open $55 fees with $1000 added each day
Youth, Senior, Medals—$15 fees $100 added each class
Buckaroos $10 entry fee with awards (Buckaroos to be eligible for awards must pre-enter)
There will be a special entry form for the finals only posted on this site starting in June!
Wow What a turn out at our 1st Race! This weekend was a great start to such a promising good season.
We had 137 in the open on Saturday and 118 in the Open on Sunday with a 13.883 as the fastest time by Becky Ecklund and her horse Lucks Victory Boy and Jodi Kvinsland on her new horse Sorrely ran a 20.766 in Poles. Becky and Jodi set the Bar high for the rest of us and we had a record number of runs clocking in the fourteens. Some real smoking runs for some of us.
We have a plethora of new riders this year. So you oldies that have been around for awhile if you see a new member stumbling around, please help them out and show them the ropes. Also new members we have several Directors that are always willing to answer your questions. Please just ask one of them and if you don’t know who they are ask at the office.
Pacific Barrel Horse Association 2013…How the years have flown! It does not seem like it has been that long but here we are, about to start a new season.
We are considering trying something once again this season: A PBHA Finals!
We would have it the weekend of September 14th and 15th at Rock N Horse arena.
This would mean that the 2013 regular season would end Sunday September 1st.
We have heard comments that our season is too looong, we also have had members say they miss when we USED to have a Finals. This addresses both and we think it would be FUN!
We brought this issue to the Directors, but there was no clear direction so we are bringing it to the Members.
Members will vote on Sunday March 3rd on this issue. If the measure fails, the 2013 season will end Sunday September 15th. If the measure passes the 2013 season will end September 1st.
If it passes, we will work up several formats for members to vote on, March 23rd.
Looking at Results::: Joni Jensen is on fire winning 4 straight races on 3 of Diamonds, October through November…… 1998. One of our many past champions.
