TATOOSH RANGE

The Tatoosh Range flanks to the south of Mt. Rainier.

Several trails allow access to it's upper most peaks from and near Wonder Lake below Mt. Rainier. This access allows hikers to the high country with fantastic views of Mt. Rainier southern view. The trails wind their way threw forested high country woodlands to alpine meadows and into valleys and vistas. This access allows the hiker to see multiple flora and fauna while hiking into the different environments. Many hikers have seen signs or even had close encounters with cougars, black bears, marmots and many other species. While hiking look to the sky and you may see raptors souring threw the clouded peaks and valleys. During the late spring and early summer wild flowers abound, while the fall brings a different view of the changing of the seasons. Winter access is only attempted by snow shoeing and or cross country skiing. What ever time of year the Tatoosh Range brings out the splendor of Mt. Rainier National Park.
