BALD EAGLE
The Bald Eagle is a predator raptor. When finding a mate they will mate for life. They are found through out the USA, especially up and down the west coast.You can usually find them perched in a tree high above looking over fields for rodents, small birds and along streams and other bodies of water always looking for fish. A good example is the Skagit River from November - Early March mindful of the the runs of returning salmon. The Bald Eagle is the American symbol of the USA.
OWLS
They are called "The hunters of the night", But owls hunt smaller birds, rodents, rabbits,amoust other pray. They are a silent hunter swooping in on their pray with the stealth of a woosh of silence.Being nocturnal they are usually seen at dawn and dusk.They have fixed eyes so they are able to swivel their heads almost 360 degrees.Calls range from hoots, wails to whistlesFemales are larger then males and lay their eggsin early spring. There are 18 differnt types of owls that live within the USA.
