Roosevelt Elk (WAPITI) Cerus elahus rang in length of 81"-117 in Height 4 1/2 '-5' at the shoulders. Their brown or reddish brown in color, darker beneath and on the neck, yellowish on the rump and they have a large tail up to 5' long. They summer in sub alpine meadows and winter in the lowlands, especially river valleys. Their range is all our West Coast Mountains and roam in Canada. They are most active in mornings and evenings and their voice is a bugling call.
