Jessie
achieved many accomplishments in her career.
| |
In her first 32
shows, through Novice and Open, all were passing scores of 192 and above, the highest
being 199 1/2. In 1991, she was #1 Hound Group in the U.S., Delaney system, and #1
Dachshund in Canada. She was always a very willing and happy worker, obviously happy
to be in the ring. She finished her UD in 6 tries and racked up 44 OTCH
points, with multiple all breed and specialty HITS, in 6 months. At this point, she
developed a herniated disk and was retired from the obedience ring before attaining her
OTCH. |
|
In the breed ring, Jessie earned 9 points
before being retired due to back surgery.

Jessie also participated in field
trials, earning 3/4 of the required points to become a Champion and with a 2nd placement,
again being forced to quit prematurely due to her back problems. |

She earned her Certificate of Gameness in Earth Dog trials, winning 1st place with the
fastest time of over 55 entries.
She was a wonderful tracker and was preparing to be certified at the time of her
retirement. She once directly tracked her cat, Simon, who had escaped, and found him 2
fields away, hiding under a tree.

She earned her Canine Good
Citizen with no problem, and was also a registered Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs
International. She visited schools and nursing homes, giving obedience demonstrations. |
