My name is Jacob
James Sparling, but almost everyone calls me Jake. I grew up in
Chehalis, Washington. Chehalis is about 30 miles south of
Olympia, our state capital. I was born in Chehalis on October 15,
1979. I graduated from W.F. West High School in
Chehalis. I graduated top in my class with an accumalitive GPA of
4.0. One of my favorite things about high school was writing for
the school paper, The
Crimson and Gray.
I am now a student at the University of Washington in Seattle. I am majoring in Computer Science, and I am really enjoying it there.
In my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar, trumpet, and computer. I also enjoy rollerblading, scuba diving, rock climbing, running, biking, hiking, sailing, skiing, camping, and just hanging out with friends. I am also a member of the UW Sailing Team. We compete against other colleges across the country. We sail 420's out of the Seattle Yacht Club.
In 1997 I earned the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts. This is an extremely large accomplishment and I am now an adult leader for my troop and still really enjoy scouting. I have put a couple of stories about scouting on this page.
Music is a really big part of my life, I have played trumpet since 5th grade and guitar since 8th grade. I am always listening to the radio or CD's. Check out my CD Review page and see what I like to listen to.
